Organization

Fireball is a joint NASA-CNES effort. The two principal investigators are Chris Martin (CalTech) and Bruno Milliard (LAM). In addition to CalTech and LAM, the University of Columbia is also contributing to the project.

CalTech is supplying the large optical systems and detectors and is responsible for launch operations.

The University of Columbia is responsible for the guidance camera and masks.

The LAM astrophysics laboratory is responsible for the spectrograph and CNES for the pointed gondola, in partnership with LAM.
